David Walliams lost his contract with longtime publisher.
Prolific young adult author and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his UK book publisher, as confirmed by the firm.
An official for the company said: "After careful consideration, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing future works by David Walliams."
Media sources suggest that the conclusion was made after an review of allegations of questionable actions directed at women.
The firm declined to specify the specific rationale behind the move, adding: "It is not our policy to discuss internal matters."
A Prolific Writing Journey
Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, with sales exceeding over six tens of millions of copies internationally in dozens of tongues.
The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins in 2008.
A number of his works, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into television films.
To date, he has released more than 40 books in total, including a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins in October.
A Dual Career
He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was made an OBE back in 2017 in recognition of his work for charity and the arts.
This move occurs subsequent to the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
